Winter has returned to MacGregor Point Provincial Park

Although the snowfall forecast is less than what's expected for Collingwood and Toronto, there is indeed about 2" of fresh snow on the ground at the Park.  The roads were bare throughout most of our drive from Waterloo.  However, things changed as we passed through Paisley and by the time we hit Highway 21 a full blown storm was under way.  At the intersection of Concession 4 and Bruce Road 33 we almost got "broadsided".  Although it's a 4 way stop and we had the right of way, the car approaching from our left was unable to stop and skidded through the intersection in front of us.  Had I been a bit less observant or quicker on the pedal, we would have been hit.  It pays to be a defensive driver.

Yurt occupants have been steadily arriving over the past couple of hours so it will be interesting to see how things look in the morning.  The skating oval was flooded this morning but the park staff weren't sure what shape it will be in for the weekend.
